IMD announced today that it will take over the Lorange Network, founded by its former President Dr Peter Lorange, with the aim of continuing the network’s success in providing real-world learning to members.

Founded in 2017, the Lorange Network has grown steadily allowing members to build relevant skills, growth opportunities and contacts by providing learning opportunities, co-investment deals and digital events.

IMD, is committed to excellence in executive education and developing leaders who transform organizations and contribute to society, and as such is a natural home for the LN network who shares in these values and this purpose.

“My personal link to IMD is strong as I was its President for 15 years,” said Peter Lorange. “My lifelong commitment to executive education and passion for business excellence make this a transition based on solid synergies. I know that IMD is the best entity to ensure the Lorange Network continues to evolve in a way that we can all be proud of.”

Peter Lorange and the Network’s President and COO Karin Mugnaini will stay involved during the transition to IMD.

As part of the takeover, existing members and contributors of the Lorange Network will gain access to IMD’s cutting-edge business content, invitations to virtual and in-person events, and networking opportunities with other leaders from around the world.

“It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome the Lorange Network into IMD’s global ecosystem. We will work together to ensure that the Network’s strong commitment to learning will be preserved through this organizational succession,” said IMD President Jean-François Manzoni.

In addition, IMD is establishing a Peter Lorange Chair, with the purpose of pursuing IMD’s global legacy in family business. Peter Lorange will be honored with the title of IMD Honorary President.

Peter Lorange served as President of IMD between 1993 and 2008. He was also involved in his family business S. Ugelstad until he sold the company in 2006 and started his own Family Office with the same name. His career and experience as a family owner and lifelong learning and practice of academic excellence are part of the Lorange Network’s philosophy.
