IMD has announced the revamp of its Breakthrough Program for Senior Executives (BPSE).
BPSE is IMD’s highest-level general management program, which prepares business leaders to recognize solve challenges within their organization.
BPSE has been revamped to focus on re-energizing the ambition of executives who have already achieved high performance and status. The program will particularly benefit leaders who seek new sources of inspiration and to reconnect with who they are and what ultimately matters. Participants will develop new “breakthrough ideas” to solve leadership and organizational challenges they face and guide their company’s response to big external changes with confidence.
Among the program’s outcomes are that executives develop concrete plans to tackle current personal and organizational challenges and to formulate new responses to persistent and complex problems their organizations face, and much more.
Rich, high-impact learning is at the heart of the new curriculum. Simulations, experiential exercises, peer-learning, role-playing and personal coaching all contribute to enriching the learning experience.
Over the course of 10 days, BPSE participants will consider the personal, interpersonal, intra-organizational and extra-organizational dynamics which contribute to shaping their behavior and choices. They will develop new “breakthrough ideas” to solve leadership and organizational challenges, and guide their company’s response to external change with confidence. BPSE participants receive coaching before, during and after the program to ensure they make a lasting impact on their organizations.
Rédouane Bellefqih, program graduate and Technology Leader at Deloitte in France, said: “My BPSE experience was exceptional — intellectually stimulating and personally enriching. From a professional projection perspective, it was strategically relevant. I recently took a new managerial position within Deloitte and the BPSE program clearly helped me to prepare myself with the appropriate tools and mind-set.”
BPSE students come from a broad range of cutting-edge companies. The diversity of functions, industries, cultures and countries, enriches he educational journey.
Program alumnae Biauw Chi Ong, Chairman of the Medical Board of Sengkang Health Pte in Singapore, said: “As a healthcare professional embarking on an administrative leadership role, I was motivated to go on the BPSE. The program allowed me to find surprising commonality across various industries and it took me to the next level of leadership. My class members, from other industries, offered fresh perspectives and a true willingness to share. We have stayed in touch and help each other along, even today.”
The program’s newly appointed director is Robert Hooijberg, IMD Professor of Organizational Behaviour who holds a PhD from the University of Michigan.
IMD has a history of delivering high-impact results. More than 81% of participants have become a more effective leader and have successfully applied new learning to their job within six months of attending an IMD program. IMD is also ranked first for participants’ aims achieved in the Financial Times rankings of 2017, and has been ranked first for open enrolment executive education programs for six consecutive years.
BPSE participants take part in the program at IMD’s scenic campus in Lausanne, Switzerland for ten days between 10-19 April, 3-12 July, or November 27-December 6, 2018.
