Marie Ricardo was a lawyer on the partner track of a corporate law firm in Manchester. She tried to remain as involved as she could in her family’s business: Ricardo Family Business (RFB) located in London. She did a great deal of preparation for the RFB board meetings every three months. However, Marie felt that her contribution was not valued by the other members of the board and wondered if it was worth her time and energy to continue her involvement.
