In 1996, after analyzing the supply chain performance in its base station business, TelTech launched “Win-Win”, an improvement program aimed at reducing order fulfillment lead time, increasing the rate of perfect order fulfillment, improving quality and decreasing inventory rotation days. This case takes a closer look at one of TelTech’s pilot projects and concludes that though improvements in the logistics performance could be reported, the intended reengineering of the supply chain did not take place and the improvements had been achieved by working harder the old way rather than by adopting a new and better delivery process. TelTech’s logistics manager tries to figure out what went wrong.
