Future readiness isn’t just a buzzword – it’s the defining characteristic of businesses built to last. Future-ready leaders adapt rapidly to shifting realities, develop internal capabilities with a sharper focus, and find new growth opportunities, fueled by a profound sense of purpose.

IMD’s Strategy for Future Readiness draws on cutting-edge research by IMD’s Center for Future Readiness and China Initiative to propose a practical framework for individuals, teams, and organizations to become future-ready by addressing five critical challenges.

I had a foretaste of Strategy for Future Readiness when I participated in a session led by the Program Directors Mark and Howard during IMD’s Orchestrating Winning Performance program. They drew on research and compelling case studies to illustrate the importance of being future ready and gave all participants a chance to voice their ideas to take the discussions further. My key takeaways? Future-ready organizations gain the most when times are good and lose the least in bad times. In our fast-changing business environment, future readiness is about next practices, not just best practices. No organization today can afford not to learn how to become future-ready.
