IMD suspends face-to-face programs on its Lausanne campus until 24 April

March 2020

The COVID-19 situation is evolving daily. IMD has been closely monitoring this outbreak and has taken a range of preventive measures to protect its internal and external constituencies, and to contribute to stemming the COVID-19 pandemic.

In light of the most recent developments worldwide and effective immediately, IMD’s Executive Committee has taken the decision to suspend all new face-to-face executive programs for six weeks.

Between now and 24 April 2020, all new programs requiring face-to-face interactions will be either converted to digital delivery and offered through IMD’s online learning tools, or rescheduled to the next available date. This decision will be made on a program by program basis, and executives and companies registered for these programs are being contacted accordingly.

“The situation has been evolving very rapidly across the world and we believe it is time to take additional steps to mitigate the outbreak and protect the wellbeing of the IMD community,” said IMD president Jean-Francois Manzoni.

“Above all else, IMD prioritizes the health and safety of our participants and staff. In recent weeks, it has been become increasingly clear that this outbreak is more pervasive than we were hoping it would be. We have therefore decided to suspend all new face-to-face programs starting Monday for the next six weeks. Thankfully, we are able to offer participants an excellent and immersive learning experience through our online portals and tools.”

To date, IMD has had no reported positive case of COVID-19. IMD will continue to monitor developments on a daily basis, including recommendations and updates from the World Health Organization and actions taken by national authorities in Switzerland, and stands ready to take any further measures required.
