Experience & Background

Ines Pöschel is a Swiss attorney-at-law and corporate governance expert with more than two decades of experience advising listed and privately held companies on complex corporate, capital markets, and M&A matters. She currently serves as Of Counsel at Kellerhals Carrard in Zurich, having previously been a partner at the firm from 2007 to 2024. In addition to her legal practice, she is a sought-after board member and lecturer on governance, executive compensation, and sustainable corporate leadership.

Pöschel’s work concentrates on corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and stock exchange law, as well as corporate governance, including board and executive compensation and employment issues at top management level. She regularly advises boards of directors and executive committees of listed companies on shareholder meetings, board duties and liability, and governance structures in regulated and international environments. Her experience also extends to compliance, crisis management, and internal investigations in complex corporate situations.

Pöschel holds several non-executive directorships, including board mandates with companies such as Alcon AG, dormakaba Holding AG, BELIMO Holding AG. Pöschel studied law at the University of Zurich, where she obtained her lic. iur. degree, and she has been admitted to the Zurich bar since 1996. She complemented her legal education with executive programs at Stanford University and Harvard Business School, earning, among others, the Stanford Executive Program certificate and a Corporate Director Certificate focusing on boards, compensation, and audit committee work. Further training in global energy and climate policy and ESG board governance underlines her focus on sustainable and responsible corporate leadership.

Alongside her advisory and board work, Pöschel regularly lectures at universities and executive education programs, including the University of St. Gallen and the University of Zurich, on topics such as M&A, negotiation, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility.
