Business Schools for Climate Leadership

Business Schools for Climate Leadership (BS4CL) is a unique partnership between eight of Europe’s leading business schools to help present and future leaders combat the climate crisis facing the planet.

The schools, which came together to launch their alliance at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021, are Cambridge Judge Business School, HEC Paris, IE Business School, IESE Business School, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), INSEAD, London Business School, and Saïd Business School (University of Oxford).

World Business Council for Sustainable Development

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a global, CEO-led community of over 200 leading sustainable businesses and represents a combined revenue of more than $8.5 trillion and 19 million employees.

In 2021, IMD and the WBCSD signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the most sustainability-centered MBA program in the world, by integrating key sustainability management tools and frameworks developed b WBCSD into the core of the MBA program.

IMD will also explore ways to further expand WBCSD’s Vision 2050 (a world in which more than nine billion people live well, within planetary boundaries) through developing short programs targeting business executives.

Principles for Responsible Management Education

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 as a platform to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world. IMD is part of the PRME Champions group, dedicated to integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into research, teaching, and outreach.

Enterprise for Society Center (E4S)

The Enterprise for Society Center (E4S) is a joint venture of the University of Lausanne through HEC Lausanne, IMD and the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), under the stewardship of its College of Management of Technology, with the mission of spearheading the transition towards a resilient, sustainable, and inclusive economy.

Inner Development Goals

Inner Development Goals is a non-profit open source initiative committed to fostering inner development towards more sustainable futures. The IDG initiative researches, collects, and communicates science-based skills and qualities that help translate the Sustainable Development Goals from a vision into action. Supported by a network of practitioners, researchers, organizations and governments, we bridge the gap between personal growth, global transformation, and human flourishing through the co-created IDG Framework, partnerships, leadership workshops, and global events.

Projects with nonprofits

IMD extends access to executive education though an inclusive offering for not-for-profit and public sector organizations. In 2022, we offered support to 46 participants from not-for-profit organizations to attend online and open enrollment programs.

Sharing and understanding both perspectives plays an important part in identifying commonalities.
